Everyone knows The Cure. But do you also know Crystal Castles? They're a band from Canada who brought out their first EP in 2006. Band members of Crystal Castles met when they were only 15 years old!
Their music style is mostly electro. They started out to be a very electro band and according to the BBC, Crystal Castles style "is to be cast adrift in a vortex of deafening pain without a safety net. You get the feeling you could do anything in the world, but that 'anything' would ultimately mean nothing. Crystal Castles marks a nuanced emotional territory that dance music never covered before."
But with the release of their second album, they have become more calm and pure. There is a lot of beauty and clarity in their music, if you listen carefully.
Here is a song where Crystal Castles sings with the lead singer of the band The Cure ( on the market since 2010). They play the music, Robert Smith sings. A brilliant combination!
